Drybrush- Drybrush is useful for giving surface texture and detail, not only for miniatures. To drybrush, take paint (not much) with your brush and wipe it off on a piece of paper or something until none seems to be left. Then apply it roughly to the surface you're painting. Note-Do this with an old brush because drybrushing is hard on the brush.

Wash- A wash is when you dip the brush in the paint and then in water. I use a wash to paint quickly and fill crevaces and hard to get places on the miniature or terrain item.
