Platoon Commander Jason Reeves scanned the terrain outside of the industrial zone he had been assigned to defend, along with the garrison. From his lofty perch on top a factory complex, he could see nothing. His 21 men were highly trained anti-tank jump infantry. Not that we're going to see any tanks here, he thought. He could see the battle raging all about him, but not in this sector. The 2nd Legion of Truth forces were concentrating on the communication arrays to the west, where Jason could hear dull thud-like explosions, and see a fireball rise in the sky, as an unfortunate Mech's ammo was touched off. Still though, the industrial zone was important, and had to be defended, should the 2nd LOT set it's sights on the supply warehouses inside the compound he had been assigned to defend. These innocent looking corrugated metal sheds contained necessary supplies for the VTOL hangars nearby.

Every day it was the same old thing, Reeves thought- watch the VTOLs fly overhead, land at the hangars, refit, and head back to the fray. Things have been heating up, during the past few days, he admitted- 2 light Mechs were sent to garrison alongside the infantry company. And FedCom engineers were arriving later today to oversee the construction of turrets and a fortified wall around the compound. Then maybe they'll thin out the garrison a little, and send us somewhere else, Reeves thought hopefully. He was interrupted by a tap on the shoulder.
