Hatchetman (HCT-5S)-
This is a simple yet effective streetfighter Mech, but not much more. It's hatchet, while nice, can only do
9 damage- hatchets are for heavier mechs. The LB 10-X is good but not powerful enough, and the 3 medium pulse lasers are poor
secondary weapons for anything but close range. This mech is also slow but has
jump jet and a LOT of armor for its weight class. Bottom line- Urban, and nothing else.
Variant HCT-6M- This is a bit better- drop the hatchet and substitute that for an SRM4.
That will solve some range problems, but not enough in my opinion.
Variant HCT-3F- The oldest (3025) Hatchetman. No way. 2 medium lasers, hatchet, AC 10
and 33% less armor, while speed is the same. Hah.
Lepkens' Opinion: "Well, the battle for Pdollis was a hard one- urban battlefields:
a lot of 'em. Luckily, that's where the Hatchetman excels- for that matter- the only place
where it excels. Lots of armor, slow speed, jumpjets and a hatchet. My advice- jump around on roofs, then
close for the kill from behind while the enemy is busier with heavier mechs. That's what I did, and that's how I did
in the Capitalists."

My rating- 9
