Dave's Daredevils entered the map cautiously, with the Owens scouting ahead.
Two turrets, one ER Large Laser and 1 Gauss (this is actually a fixed emplacement, click the link to see its field of view), covered the entrance to the valley. The Owens climbed the steep hill on the left, out of the emplacement's field of fire), and took a few shots at the heavily armored building. The laser turret missed the fast-moving mech. The Avatar and Hatchetman joined the Owens on the hill and started firing away at the Gauss. The Brigands realized their mistake in not covering the emplacement and brought up the Thunderbolt. But the T-Bolt was late and the Gauss was destroyed without firing a shot. The Daredevils brought their mechs down into the valley to get a better look at the installation.
The Hollander, who was lurking inside the base, climbed a hill opposite the Thunderbolt and drew a bead on the Avatar. The Hollander's gauss slug slammed into the target's right arm, which held an AC20. The Daredevils however, were preoccupied with destroying turrets, and the next to fall was the gate turret.

Some jump infantry issued from the base and from a bunker near the gate. Their fire, combined with the 2 mechs on the hills, was inflicting damage mostly on the Avatar, and mostly on its arms, but never causing any critical hits.

Aftermath: Boris lost 4 million C Bills in damages, along with three prototype missiles, and Dave's group got %10 of that, and no missiles. But Alliance Mining will probably pay better for the next mission, and will hopefully supply the Daredevils with some new mechs and techs to repair the Avatars gyro.
